in 1909, Sir Shri Ram joined DCM Ltd. Under his leadership, DCM transformed into an industrial empire, manufacturing a vast variety of goods like textiles, sugar, chemicals, vanaspati, pottery, fans, sewing machines, electric motors and capacitors.Sir Shri Ram became the President of FICCI in 1930 and was knighted by the British Monarch, George VI in the year 1941. He was also one of the seven architects of the Bombay Plan of 1944-45. In 1957, Sir Shri Ram became the Chairman of the public sector Sindri Fertilizers & Chemicals.
