Unclaimed deposits in banks are in thousands of crores. Reserve Bank of India(RBI) estimates that there are unclaimed deposits of over Rs.35,000 crore. That is In banks This is the amount deposited and forgotten by customers. RBI is taking various steps to return this money belonging to the customers to the customers. Banks have initiated measures to identify customers and refund money to them or their nominees. But customers themselves have started a portal specifically to know the details of their forgotten money.
Customers can check the details of their unclaimed deposits by logging into RBI’s portal https://udgam.rbi.org.in/unclaimed-deposits/#/login. Currently on this portal State Bank of India , Punjab National Bank, Central Bank of India, Dhana lakshmi Bank, South Indian Bank and DBS Bank India are registered banks. Citibank for non-individual is on this portal. And follow these steps to know your unclaimed deposits details on this portal.
First open https://udgam.rbi.org.in/unclaimed-deposits/#/login portal.
Click on Register
Enter Mobile number, name, password, captcha code and register.
Login after registration.
After login enter account holder name.
Select a bank from the banks in the list.
PAN Number, Voter ID, Driving License Number, Passport Number, Date of Birth should be entered.
At the top of the screen will be the details of your unclaimed deposits.
